Pantry Has Gone Downhill – This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in L.A. I actually began going there in 1964. In recent years I've noticed an unmistakable, persistent decline in the quality of the food in spite of continued price increases. They used to serve a terrific plate of roast beef brisket. Then they switched to an inferior cut of meat for the roast beef and it became tough and grisly. YUMMIE! – Wonderful, unique atmosphere, fantastic food and friendly, fast service. DO NOT be intimidated if there's a line outside winding around the building ... this line moves FAST!
EXELLENT FOOD – As I waited in line with lite rain a few months ago I was wondering if it was worth it. My boyfriend told me it would be the best breakfast place ever.. Well low and behold, the steak was cooked the way I like it, my eggs overeasy, the couldn't be any better. I left there in awe...So it's crowded, noisy, but it was all worth it. Yes, we will return again and again.....
Longevity for a reason – You don't survive this long, especially in L.A., without giving the people what they want. In the case of The Original Pantry, we're talking good food at a great price. You don't come here if you're looking for ambiance or trendy dishes. You come here for meat and potatoes at any time. And that's what you will get. Traditional American food without a lot of frills. Enjoy.

Goodness like home!! – My mother used to take me to lunch everytime I came to visit her in Pasadena. The Pantry really holds a special place in my heart and in my stomach. Thanks Pantry!!
no need for any other place – one of the most delict but clean ambience, the waiters are glum, the the veg trays perfect, the breakfast without contest the finest, especially if you want to close out a great evening out!
TBest Joint in Town – The Pantry not only has the best home style food...but the atmosphere here is great also...your never ever disappointed...and the price is right.
Amazing breakfasts – The breakfasts here are legendary. And the prices are terrific, expecially for being right downtown. This is one of the few places in LA that hasn't been all fancied up and modernized. They have moved down the street to a new location, but all the old-time charm remains.
