Flagstar is ridiculous! Everytime I call they have to transfer me several times. The HELOC department knows nothing about the banking side. They gave me a HELOC and failed to tell me I have to have a checking account in order to access the HELOC. After setting up the account they closed it after 90 days because it as at a $0 balance. No one told me the conditions of the account, no one let me know it was being closed. Now I have no way to access my HELOC. I made 6 payments to my HELOC in a month. I wouldn't give this company 1/2 a star. Like many of you, I had a good mortgage provider. In all the years owning my house, I have never paid late fees like I have to FlagShart! No proper communication from this business. Get out while you can and avoid getting a loan from this bank. Surprised to see this BBB rating. Another provider can't come soon enough.

One star is to nice for this company. They bought out our loan and jacked up the escrow amount without any notice. Then they sent us a message saying we had to send the difference immediately. We always pay extra towards our principle but was later informed they hold any extra until it is a full payment. That means they are collecting interest from us and from the bank. When they found out we were going to refinance with someone else they were all about calling us to try and get us to stay with them. They are charging us a s... read more

I have never seen such poor business practices. A year and over 40 hours on the phone in an attempt to receive funds from an insurance claim. Documents continually "not received" or archived and unable to locate. You can not get a supervisor on the phone when working with Loss Draft and Customer Service sends you to ask for a Supervisor in Loss Draft. One department approves the funds release, and the next department denies based on the exact same documents the first group had to approve with. You are sent back to the first ... read more
