We had a house fire, and the insurance company sent the check to us with Flagstar's name on it also (standard procedure). Only problem is that weeks after their inspector looked the house over, we are still fighting them to get OUR money. To top it off, I got a letter today stating that they don't have any paperwork, and want to know if I am ready for an inspection!! WORST BANK EVER!!! Like others, I can't believe that they don't have an F- rating
My loan was recently sold from Chase to Flagstar. After calling their 1-800 number,(by the way, it is the only 1-800 number and they have one person named "Brad"answer the phone every time I called), this Brad told me the only way I could make a payment was through an address he would only give verbally to connect my bank to theirs. I asked him if there was a website I could look this address up on. No, no website. I could only call during business hours and I could only get it from him, verbally. I looked on the internet an... read more
I have 820 FICO score and have had a loan on my primary residence for almost a decade with Flagstar bank and with a payment never a missed or late. (thank you auto pay) I received an escrow shortage request which is expected with increasing taxes which I paid in full and on time. Even after I paid the escrow increase (the purpose of paying is to keep the payment the same) My payment was still increased by about $400 per year. Frustrating, but certainly not worth a review. My frustration came when I called to resolve this $... read more
This is the worst bank to do business with. Do not, I repeat, do not get a loan with this bank! They have the worst customer service and it seems like they are in the foreclosure business instead of loan servicing. The worst!!!
I have no idea how come a bank that has many negative reviews still has an A+ from the BBB. I had a really bad experience with this bank. They held my home loan. I filed a claim with my insurance company and they gave me a check with Flagstar name on it to make sure all repairs were done. It took Flagstar 2 weeks AFTER they inspected all work was completed to release the final payment of the insurance claim money. I called them almost every day and every day they would say it would mail the next day. This was really a very b... read more
Worst. "bank." ever. After being hit by Irma and Maria, signed up for disaster forbearance plan, which should've suspended mortgage payments for three months; however, they withdrew mortgage anyway, overdrawing our account. We were charged a number of service fees, plus it hurt our business and probably our credit. It took over a month for them to fix the issue, even though I called the day after it happened. Most banks would've reversed the payment, but Flagstar did I-don't-know-what for over a month until finally mailing a... read more
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK
We contacted Flag star bank during our home search while looking to move out of state. In the beginning, our direct contact agent was very friendly and prompt when answering questions and requesting information. After choosing a home, we were involved with a loan processor named Susan, who frankly had no customer service skills and was very lacking in communication. Due to some unexpected changes to our loan, we needed to remove the co-borrower, but we were assured by our agent that we would still hit our closing date which ... read more
We wanted to refinance our house and knew our credit score, the lender lied and said we had a low credit score in order to get a higher APR. We knew she was lying and called her out in it yet she insisted she was doing us a favor. We have since moved on to a bank that does not make up credit scores.
