My son purchased a remote start as a Christmas present using his Flagstar Visa Debit Card. After Christmas we had to make an appointment to have it installed. Long story short, the remote starter did not work. We contacted the company out of California and had to follow their procedures to get an RA number to return. They disconnected us, gave us the run around etc. This went on for weeks, We had contacted Flagstar who said we had to try to resolve it with the merchant again. So we tried again. Finally Flagstar let us filed ... read more

I notified Flagstar I was switching insurance companies on June 30th knowing my policies were coming due. My agent had to fax the policies 3 separate times because the insurance department couldn't find them. my Flood insurance was a nightmare! After several attempts and being told many different things on what paperwork was needed, I was told a check was being sent to pay my policy. After more than a week and my broker still without a check, I was told my escrow account was frozen because they got a payoff request from anot... read more

Don't use flagstar bank for your refinancing needs... They are way too slow and NOT doing good a business you want to refinance your home. The appraiser they sent out to our home under cut the value of our home and even asked my husband what the dollar amount we were looking for. When I contacted him to ask questions about the value he reported me. Also they took so long when I was so stressed that I got sick. They kept reviewing the items and payments for 3 months and then I was denied.... DON'T use these PEOPLE.... They ta... read more

i am a mortgage customer of Flagstar. I have an escrow with Flagstar for my insurance payments. Flagstar collected the monthly payment for 12 months. The payment due date arrived and they did not pay the insurance out of the escrow. I paid the insurance separately. I contacted them and they said they just chose not to pay the insurance and will check to see if its paid and send me the escrow money following an escrow review in 10 months. meanwhile an additional year of payments will be made and will be sitting in my escrow a... read more

Flagstar has closed 5 of my mortgages and is refinancing one of my homes. I wouldn't go with anyone else. Yes they are thorough on paperwork but that's ok, because they have offered me 15 yr fixed at 2.75-3.18% and 30 yr fixed for 3.85-4.125 and i have 7 homes and im considered a huge liability. Also all my accounts are set up on auto pay and escrow so it is pretty much turn key. As an investor I look for smaller banks like these because this were the you are going to capitalize on low interested and risk takers.

This bank sold my home loan to another bank right after the first year of my purchase. The transfer happened on 5/15/17, my hazard insurance premium was due on 5/11/17. Flagstar bank didn't make the payment from my escrow account and now I have to contact 2 banks to straighten thinks up ! How horrible it is !?

I have been a mortgage customer of Flagstar for two years and every time I have to interact with them it's a nightmare. My most recent nightmare began when I found less expensive Hazard Home Insurance and Windstorm Insurance (I live on the Gulf coast and it's a requirement). My timing was a day or two late and the payments to my incumbent insurers had already been sent from my escrow account. I had to get refunds from the companies sent to me, sign the checks over to Flagstar, and send it to a very specific address as I was ... read more

My house burned down. I got the check from insurance and I submitted it to Flagstar, because they are the mortgage holders. This is apparently industry standard so I am not going to complain about all the additional paperwork. It has been 3 weeks since they got it. The workers are almost done as they started 3-4 months before and I haven't gotten the first third installment to them they are calling me daily and I cant get a hold of anyone in Flagstar to tell me what is going on. I keep getting hung up on by the automated ser... read more
