Booked through booking.com. Looking at the reception and the hall way , we miss judged that rooms are not going to be good and we thought our stay is not going to be comfortable. The receptionist was very helpful, professional and always smiling. We stayed in the new flat 2, the 2 bedrooms were very spacious and the living room was massive. They had bath tub as well as separate shower in the toilet. Had smart TV in all the rooms and remote control curtains. Historical hotel in the heart of Buxton, so easy access to pubs, restaurants and the town centre. Lovely view of the Opera House from our rooms. The hotel itself looks very tired and could do with freshening up. Beautiful exterior, but the interior is a let down. Decent breakfast in a fairly grand dining room .

From the moment we arrived at the Old Hall Hotel, to the moment we left, we were impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the certainly helped make our stay enjoyable. We enjoyed lunch in the bar, which was just what we ordered, well cooked and well presented. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a bathroom with ample towels and a much appreciated heated towel rail. This is a fabulous place to stay. Our room was excellent, quirky, and very clean.. bed comfy, very large.. and decor and accessories stunning..
