The highlight of my trip! Kept seeing this on the 'things to do while in Lousiana' and I'm so happy we came. The oak trees are stunning! Wish I had that balcony alley view every single day! I definitely recommend a trip here. Enjoy a mint julip on the way out
It was absolutely beautiful!! I can't wait to come back!
We were last here 10 yrs ago. The tour is still from the perspective of the plantation owner & family. Having also toured Whitney yesterday, which tells it from the slaves' perspective, I was wishing Oak Alley was doing similar. But they still are not. Otherwise, it's a fabulous place to visit.
Had a wonderful visit to Oak Alley. Enjoyed learning its history during the mansion tour. Everything on the plantation is beautifully preserved and the majestic oaks are stunning. Had lunch at the restaurant. Food was good but a little pricey. Service was great. Nice gift shop near restaurant as well.
Not worth the money which is required to enter the territory of the plantation, especially if you don't want to enter the house.
I absolutely love Oak Alley!! My husband and I stay on the grounds in one of the cabins a few times a year. We just went back this weekend. I love my experience more every time we go. The staff is so sweet and the food is amazing. I love the grounds and everything is perfect. We will surely be back.
Absolutely beautiful plantation with deep New Orleans ties with gorgeous grounds.
