Come enjoy her beauty and dream of her rich past . . . Located on the Mississippi River between the historic Louisiana cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Oak Alley Plantation has been called the "Grande Dame of the Great River Road". Nowhere else in the south will you find such a spectacular setting! The quarter-mile canopy of giant live oak trees, believed to be nearly 300 years old, forms an impressive avenue leading to the classic Greek-revival style antebellum home. Very breathtakingly beautiful! Love the beautiful house, live oaks & the wonderful smell! I would recommend going here, it's like walking back in time!
Je trouve la plantation absolument superbe et cette allée de chênes est absolument MAGNIFIQUE. Seul petit bémol, une visite guidée solennelle et du coup un peu triste. Mais très belle plantation tout de même !!! Vaut le détour
Absolutely beautiful! Our guide was awesome, and highly recommend visiting.
I had always been weary of visiting a plantation due to the history that they carry with them. Oak Alley is not only a beautiful structure but beautiful in the sense that it memorializes the people who built it and shows you a glimpse of their lives and struggles.
Me and my fiancé were brought here by my bio dad and sister the first weekend we ever met...... for 27 years I waited for the opportunity to finally meet the man who is my bio father and siblings! This was an amazing experience to share with them! They are local to the area so it really gave me a since of history and I LOVED THE OAKS! Absolutely breath taking the tour was very informative! Memories to last for a lifetime for sure!
We had lunch first at the restaurant and it was fabulous😀We had shrimp pivots grilled and fried, seafood gumbo that was one of the best and we know good gumbo, praline cheesecake OMG so delish😋Then we were off to explore the house our tour guide was so auesome very detailed on the history of the home loved it❤️There is a beauty here that is magical and brings you back 200 years. The huge oak trees 300 years old are magnificent this trip is so worth going there and be sure to eat and have a mint Julip to end out your day😀👍
I love the serenity of Oak Alley. The food at the restaurant was great as was the wait staff i.e. Sadie. However the cost of entering the grounds/house tour is an exorbitant $22 per adult. So we had a $50 lunch and spent about that in the gift shop. I think some accommodation should be made for people who lunch and would like to walk the grounds.
Wonderful place of history, makes you think about what people went through
Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. The food at the restaurant was fantastic!
