Oak Alley is wonderfully preserved. It is meant to show what plantation life was like as well as just a bit of the homes history and the people who lived there. If you want to learn more about the slaves then visit the Laura or Whitney plantations. To learn history is to learn it from both sides and i think it is just as important to learn about the folks who kept the slaves to learn how we must not be like them or learn how to spot this is our own society. The Plantation was great. Beautiful grounds and very clean. Could have used a better detailed tour. Guide was great but didn’t make it fun. It was more like a lecture.

The trees and the garden is beautiful. I was kinda disappointed in the house and tour even though i really liked our tour guide.
