I'm so upset with the customer service representatives. I changed my policy and added a vehicle with full coverage and put my last vehicle on the insurance for my car staying parked in my driveway. When I made those changes the representative told me that my next 2 charges would be 47 dollars and some change. I knew that was to good to be true. I then got charged 90 dollars. After having home owners insurance with this company for 18 years we had an accident at our home in November which required us to put a claim in for damage. The indecent was not a major one where we had to leave our home just some minor water damage in the basement.The process went somewhat smoothly our agent was helpful to a point needless to say they had to pay the claim for damage. Upon closing my insurance account, I was told by an insurance rep that I had been making double payments for a year. I called travelers to see if they were going to refund me for the last year. No problem they said. It should be back in your account in 5 to 7 business days they said. 2 weeks later, I still dont have a refund. I call and they say they have to investigate the issue and I should have my refund in 2 days. 1 more week passes and I call them back. It will be refunded in 3 days they say. The definition of "scam" in it's noun sense is "a dishonest scheme; a fraud" or, as a verb, it's described as a "swindle". If you look on Merriam-Webster, they literally say "a fraudulent or deceptive act or operation // an insurance scam." I would bet Merriam-Webster is referring to Travelers when they mention "an insurance scam". DO NOT GO WITH TRAVELERS IF YOU ARE A SMALL BUSINESS AND NEED WORKER'S COMPENSATION. I was scammed by the company "Travelers Insurance". They offered me a good rate for home owner and auto insurance pack for the first 6 months. The auto insurance then went up in the next renewal by more than the double! After three calls trying to know what caused the huge increase to my premium, I got the most ridiculous answer, that for some unknown reason, their system did not detect the two accidents I had during the past 2 years!! My car was insured and they are not covering the cost. Although, I paid for auto rental as well, they have asked me to turn the car back in. I have officially started calling around for legal.

My policy was cancelled without any notice being given. I had a feeling it was around my renewal time and as I had not heard anything from Travelers I logged into my account only to find that the policy had been canceled due to non-payment. No one from Travelers aver reached out to me (via mail, phone, or email) to let me know that my policy was about to expire. Class action lawsuit waiting to happen. From my own experience and what I have read on this site, it seems to be that Travelers intentionally ignores customer calls so discourage claimants from pursuing their claim. My car was was parked in a parking lot and hit by a Travelers insured. Similar to other review, they were quick to open the claim but the claim professional would not pick up the phone for weeks.
