After many years with Travelers we have decided to end our business owners policy with them . The claims department was the worst and most inefficient department I have dealt with in the insurance industry in all my years having to deal with unfortunate circumstances. The claims adjuster just kept referring to the wording in the contract where he said the building was responsible, our property management then sent wording back where it showed tenant is responsible, and Travelers still would not accept the responsibility on o... read more

Their client hit me and from day one this company was trouble! They lie, they refuse to offer reasonable offers to pay off my car, which was in very good condition while they offered me fair condition, and they are only out for profit with nothing else in mind whatsoever. THEN they STOLE MY CAR OFF the lot before I agreed to ANY CONDITIONS! Literally had to contact the police and start the process of filing grand theft auto for my car to be returned. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! After being with Travelers for many years and insuring more than 10 vehicles with them, no claims at all my brand new truck was stolen from my drive way. My truck was recovered the same day laying in frame and my custom wheels were stolen. Travelers offered me $1500 and suggested I go to "craigslist" and buy some used rims and tires to bring to the body shop so they can get started working on my truck. Worst experience ever in 45+ years of buying auto insurance. In a telephone call, the "Welcome Center" agent was annoying and offensive, even to the point of implying I was lying because my current situation did not match the information he had from some suspect source. This was 4 days before my policy was to be effective. The experience was so unpleasant I called and immediately canceled. I would avoid Travelers at all costs, no matter the premium.

Travelers Insurance increased our auto policy by $542.00 per year after our initial 6 month policy. There reason for the increase was due to an out of state license. They had this information upon the start of said policy. We traded in and purchased a new vehicle a few months into our policy. The insurance only went up $70 per year and nothing was said about an out of state license. Of course 2 months later when the policy is set to renew, they suck an additional $271.00 from our bank account (6 month premium). Luckily the f... read more

Travelers represents a milk company that caused me an extremely painful injury when I accidentally swallowed a pull tab ring that broke away from the pour spout on a milk carton. While Travelers believes its contract with the offending company excludes any financial obligation for my injury, which was traced to a second company that manufactured the carton that caused the injury, I can honestly report that the Travelers agent has been prompt, fully open and exceptionally courteous in her correspondence. Made me jump through hoops to cancel my home owner's insurance policy because I went with a better and cheaper alternative.

My belief is that Travelers Insurance is a joke.. their managers and insurance adjusters are a joke.. they treat their employees like garbage and should be ashamed of themselves as a company.. I am in the restoration business and the clients I have who carry Travelers get screwed over constantly.. the company cares more about making money for themselves than they do about their employees or their insured.. they are a joke in the business and there is a reason you won’t see them around in the next few years.. if you have Trav... read more

I don't think there is a worse customer service department than Travelers. I've been in the auto industry 7 years, never have I had to only call this company 1 time to make a policy change with a customer. Consistent incompetence, always apologizing and never making any of the corrections thats are actually needed. How they operate and generate any sort of profitable business mystifies me.
