My husband has received excellent primary care and ER issues from the Lake City medical center as well as specialty care and hospital stays at the Malcom Randall Center. Problem:he was diagnosed with a painful heel spur and qualified for the CHOICE program for private care .Two private offices have turned him down due to not receiving payment for services.CHOICE is a great program if allowed to function.
I called the 904-475-5800 number (preventive health clinic) to set up an appointment here in Jacksonville. The recording instructs you not to hang up and call again, and your call will be answered in the order received. I was on hold for 1 hour and 50 minutes before I hung up the phone. I was encouraged to enroll after my last visit to the Gainesville location. However, if the events of today are indicative of the type of service I can expect here in Jacksonville, I’ll just pay the Co-pay and stay private.
I had an appointment this morning 19 April 2018. I arrived before my appointment which was for 0800. After waiting about 25 minutes (0825) I was the first one of many in the waiting that was called. Evidently a staff meeting was called around 0800 and I never heard any announcement of any kind. Seems to me that a manager would not call a staff meeting while veterans with appointments were waiting.
Need a number for a human in the sleep clinic regarding my CPAP Machine. Not supply ordering.

One hour and fifteen minutes later, after I've parked the car and walked to the reception area, I'm still on hold listening (for the 100th time) to some guy talking about my advanced directive. I honestly... read more
I have been going to the VA as my primary care for about 3 years and I have found them to be exceptional. I go to the Palatka clinic for doctor visits and have been to the Gainesville facility for specialists and one procedure. They treated me excellent. The doctors and nurses are professional, knowledgeable and did everything to make me and my wife comfortable. I just had a procedure at the Lake City facility and they were equally excellent and did everything they could to make us comfortable. I think that there can be a ti... read more
