The medical practice at Gainesville STINKS, nothing but interns and residents. You have to demand to see a real licensed physician. NF/SG VAMC ranks 14th out of 155 VAMCs in medical malpractice and wrongful death lawsuits in federal court. Even nurses have told me stories about the bad doctors at Gainesville. 38% of the Title 38 doctors who were admitted to VA practice under the PAP program (Privileging Application Program) have state medical board disciplinary and malpractice litigation histories. I’ve been to both the VA and private Clinic Providers. I have to say no system is perfect and private providers act up as well but I prefer to get my health care needs from the VA because they understand my issues more than private providers. I would recommend the VA. If you have an issue then speak to the director. They can help you with your issues and Jefferson Street has a Patient Advocate.
When your go to VA hospitals for help the make you feel like a number. The make you feel like all they want to do is give you as many peels as they can give you so you will leave, and they want have to deal with you. From the people answering the phone, the nurses, the doctors, patient advocates, VSO. Everyone is rude and unhelpful. They make you feel like you are on Medicaid and you are poor and lowest of the lowest because you get free health care.Pieces of sh**t
Excellent care from the nurses and techs on 3-West during recent hospitalization. They, and everyone else with whom I had contact, do some bang-up good care and TLC :)
Excellent health care and friendly staff.
Impossible to get ahold of anyone. No one calls back. Same VA crap, different office.
