If I could leave no starts I would. I filed my claim in the beginning of October, it is now November and I was told my doctor didnt provide enough documentation. Ive only been called twice by the claims manager in the past two months. I now nearing the end of my leave and having to file an appeal. I was denied an extension on my short term disability leave benefits following multiple shifts from New York Life based on there "customer service" process. Whatever you do call EVERY week or every 3 days or your claim benefit may be stopped and you may not be notified until TWO weeks later leaving you out of luck and depending on your company's policy potentially out of a job. New York Life is garbage. If I could leave negative stars I would. I was seeking short term because my doctor took me out of work. For several weeks straight I was told my claims manager was out of the office. Its been 2 months and I have not received a check since the first week. Today they denied me stating there isnt supporting medical information. We sent 82 pages two weeks ago. DONT USE THEM. This is a place is a joke!! I filed a claim on 10-15-25 and they said the claims mgr was gone request the docs from ** .today is the 27th and I called them today and the first representative told me the documents was requested on the 21st then we somehow gets disconnected and I called back and the next representative told me the documents was never requested!! I tried out their service and I decided against using them so I canceled within the 30 days to get my refund and I even faxed over a cancelelation form before the 30 days was up. I just received another cancelelation form saying they need more information but, I filled out everything the same on both cancelelation forms. They will do anything to keep my refund.
I filed a claim for long term disability in June got a letter sent back to me stating I had to wait 45 days before the beginning of the claim date ok that's fine I had 5 days left before that anyway so I filled it all out again and resubmitted it again this time through my employer facing it to them. Now my claim finally got approved on the 4th I have been waiting to talk to my claim manager since July still no answer I can call everyday and she won't accept my calls it's saying she's always busy.
