The customer service is absolutely horrible. I called with my husband on the phone to stop the auto draft payments on his life insurance policy. Guess what they did not stop the auto draft and money was taken from my account. I understand them not being able to talk to me since my husband is the policy owner but why not do what was asked when we did the right thing and called with him on the phone authorizing me as his wife to talk to the customer service.This isnt the first encounter with their customer service department t... read more
So sad. I feel like Ive been robbed and I feel like the sales tactics are Elder Abuse. **** is obviously for elderly people. I saw that I could get Life Insurance on myself and even though the premium amount was a stretch I have an autistic grandson who will need a lot of care after were all gone so I signed up for the insurance. I have been off work with back pain and issues since 8/05/2025. I filed the week after. Initially approved for 2 weeks. Got a check. Still out of work for the same issue sent records in they havent extended my claim and every time I contact them I get a different story. It was first they got my records but they needed another paper from my doctor. Then it was they were waiting on my records which I sent in and they said it would take 5 business days to review. My husband was to receive his check on Thursday 9/2/25. So when he called they told him Thursday or Friday. Well guess what still no check. We have bills to pau. They told him because of the holiday it was sent 8/30/25 when the holiday was 9/1/25. So not sure why it was sent late before the holiday. I have been extremely frustrated with the handling of my short term disability claim through New York Life. I submitted all required documentation promptly, and when I called to confirm, I was told everything was received. Despite this, weeks have gone by with no resolution.Each time I call for an update, Im told the claim is still under review and to allow another business day. I had a very frustrating experience with New York Life. After canceling my policy, I was told I would receive a refund, but I only received part of it and never got the rest. I called multiple times and spoke with the surrender team and solutions department, but nobody wanted to take responsibility or help resolve the issue.
