Everything is wonderful The service is attentive, the ambiance is like a spacious dining room, the staff is professional. large selections of vegetarian and meats are just mouth watering. We a wonderful eggplant, nice daal, amazing puffy naan bread made fresh in a tandoor oven, chicken korma, mango chutney, raita, and tamarind. Everything delicious. The garlic nan bread is awesome (which I am still thinking about now). All in all a delightful and fabulous evening. Not the last time we will be at New Delhi.

Greatest Indian food This is one of the best Indian food places in the bay area. This place has been visited by Bill clinton. The food is world class a little expensive though but so worth it. Highly recommend this place for the greatest chicken and vegeterain dishes PROS: Great indian food CONS: a lil expensive

Wonderful special occasion spot! We took my daughter to New Delhi Restaurant for her birthday, having never been before, and we were all very impressed! The service was great, and the food was really wonderful. The Chicken Tikka Masala was so good. Also try the Rogan Josh and of course the rasmalai for dessert. Yummy! We went at 8 PM on a Friday nite and didn't have to wait for a table. Parking was a little hectic, but what do you expect near Union Square?

Great food and service Just discovered this hidden gem in the Union Square area with its extremely reasonable prices, homemade quality and a great full service bar to boot - this is hands-down the best Indian in SF and surrounding area, coming from someone who has tried nearly all local indian spots. Going to an upscale Indian place is a real treat and I'm glad they are there.

Great food and bread I am a consultant and I keep traveling a lot. I have been to a lot of Indian restaurants even in my home town (St Louis), but this is the best Indian food I have had since I have been in the US (since last two and half years now). I am a food lover and I try out various dishes. I ordered three different dishes to test the consistency of the food preparation and I would like to give 10/10 for the all the entries prepared. I am here every week now in San Francisco and I am not disappointed at all. I really... read more

Craving a curry! New Delhi Restaurant is the one restaurant I miss the most since I left San Francisco. They make this dish that is a kind of sweet, lightly spiced curry with chicken cashews and raisins with rice. It is to die for!!!!!!!!! All of their dishes are good tho, they have been in business a long time and believe me there is a reason for it.... They know what they are doing! If you go anywhere to eat go here!!!!

Delicious! My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. What everyone is writing about the service and the food is absolutely correct. The owner and chefs make food with love. You can actually taste the freshness and heart that goes into making this experience a positive one. The Naan is out of this world. We also had lamb korma which is one of my favorites and this was the best place I have ever had it. Additionally, I love the mixed tandoori plate as well. Everything was well put together. I feel like this is a place that if y... read more

Best Indian in town This food is delicious, priced well and served family style. I often enjoy the Tandoori Chicken and the Naan. I'm sure my frequent visits to the restaurant have the staff thinking of me as someone who can't cook for themselves, but there is nothing not to like about this restaurant if you like Indian food. If you are a plain meat and potatoes person, you may not like it, because spices abound with this delicious food.

Finally the carnivores and vegetarians can share a table I have a lot of friends on both sides of the meat/non-meat fence. This makes eating out as a group a challenge, to say the least. However, New Delhi is the one place we all agree on. (And those who don't can just have mango martinis for dinner. Ooo, there's an idea!) The restaurant itself is lovely: tall columns, marble floors and white linen as far as you can see. The food is what keeps us coming back. They have all the Indian classics, some variations on the theme. I... read more
