I am writing this review to warn everyone to NOT buy a netspend prepaid card. They claim they need to verify your identity but once you identify it they refuse to unlock the funds. I bought a card for a friend of mine who inst great with technology. So i put the card in his name and when i went to verify the info they said they couldn't verify it. I had a transaction go through on my netspend cars that was fraudulent. I disputed it back at the beginning of September and at that time they informed me that I would know the outcome and have my money back by October 26th. I hadn't heard back from them by the 10th of November. So I proceeded to contact them. At that time they informed me now I will not have an answer until the 25th of November. I would like to leave less than a star but that is not possible! This business sent me a credit card with a number and my full name on it through the mail without me even knowing about it and I am enraged at this breach of security.

I received a debit card with a MasterCard logo on it unsolicited and it freaked me out because I didn't ask for one. Normally, you receive a fake card with promotional info and that's fine. But, an actual debit card? One that if someone had stolen it, can be used for theft and would leave me fighting to get rid of charges that I'm not responsible for? If I could leave 0 Stars I would. I am a 34 law student that is pregnant with my third child and rely on my student Aid more then you can imagine. I recently started using Netspend and decided to get my financial aid direct deposited into that account. It has been one of the worst decisions I have ever made. My 78 yr old mother-in-law bought a Netscpend card from Walmart thinking it was a gift card; payed $3 and loaded it with $50. When she realized it was not a gift card (2 days later) and tried to return it, Walmart said these cards cannot be returned nor the loaded money retrieved, even though package and receipt were intact. What a scam for elderly people who cannot even see the fine print. Shame on Walmart too.

Great card! Have used it for 3 yrs now without a problem. My SS and pension checks are always 2-3 days early. I pay $5 a month for this service. Worth it.

Absolutely terrible, costumer service sucks expect to have the phone hung up on you often. Security sucks my account has been compromised over 3 times and to even be credited back takes anywhere from two weeks to 90 days ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I honestly wouldn’t even give one star but its not an option
