A splendid culinary adventure awaits you at Navarre, a unique dining destination with a highly innovative take on the working of a restaurant. The interiors have a very casual, cafe-style vibe with bare walls, a wine shelf on one of the walls and a handful of lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The all-glass entrance allows a good play of natural light inside. The chef crafts an innovative selection of European small plates with influences from the Italian, French and Spanish palate. The twist however, comes with the menu. Th... read more

great wine – This place has one of the best wine lists in town. The quality is high and the mark ups low. It has some of the the best relative prices in town. The food is incredible especially when you let the kitchen choose the meal for you. They will choose your wines 3 medium pours, I had this the other night and was pleasantly surprised. My favorite thing was the basque chicken and porcini meatballs.
Average food, rude service – Food average, service rude. We had never been there before, and didn't know the ordeing regime. i ordered a glass of riesling before looking at the over priced wine list. when our bill came, she nailed me for the $11.00 a glass one, thehighest on the menu, instead of offering me choices. The waitress was extremely aloof, and at times down right rude. She scoffed at us being newbies, exclaiming "I've done this a few times before", when asking her how to order. Well, that's great girlfriend, but we... read more
A wonderful place to eat – I have been going to Navarre for years. It has rarely disappointed. I went the other day with my family. They were visiting and we needed a place to go and enjoy each other. We order the "we feed you" from the menu. My brother was worried that there would not be enough food. Well by the second course he was no longer worried. We got two courses both were so nicely thought out and all the food was tasty. The service was wonderful and my family had the time of their life. It was great to let Navarre ... read more
Great food what fun – I ate at Navarre the other day. I really had a great time. The food was outstanding and the wine list extraordinary. We ordered to much and didn't mind at all. The flavors we all great. After great suggestions from the waiter we had many glasses of wonderful wine. We thought it couldn't get any better, then we had dessert. Wow. This place really has an authentic and lovely feel to it. Can't wait to go back.
WAY OVER PRICED FOOD – OUR OFFFICE HAD READ WONDERFUL REVIEWS OF THEIR PULLED PORK SANDWICH AND DECIDED TO TRY IT OUT. WE WERE A LITTLE SHOCKED AT THE PRICE, $9 FOR A SANDWICH NOT INCLUDING SIDES, BUT STILL THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE WORTH IT. WE CALLED TO PLACE AND ORDER AND SPOKE WITH A RUDE GIRL WHO FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 3 WEEKS INFORMED US THEY DIDNT HAVE FRIES ....WHO DOESN'T HAVE FRIES?!?!?! FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 3 WEEKS?!?!?! BUT ALAS WE STILL WANTED THIS "AMAZING" SANDWICH. INSTEAD WE ORDERED A SIDE SALAD (FOR 8$ OUCH!!) ... read more
Delicious food, terrible service! – I don't know if I'd ever go back to this restaurant, at least for lunch anyways. The food was fantastic, the menu creative and fun, but our server was really lame. She made us all feel uncomfortable and unwelcome being there. At one point I checked my watch to see if she was closing, but it was only 2pm, they serve lunch until 4:30pm, and there was another table there besides us as well. It started out okay, we asked for recommendations, and she gave us some good ones, but when our food st... read more
undiscovered best restaurant in Portland – Food- With a constantly rotating specials board and knowledge of both old world and fusion cuisine, Jon and the Boys are great at creating great tasting food in its natural form. Giving both "Foodies" and "Picky eaters" a big selection of simply wonderful world wide favorites. Preserving the true essence of whatever they choose to use, generally being in season produce, fresh herbs and magnificent product from its true place of origin. No domestic brie here! Only good food with out ... read more
very nice surprise – We bought our movie tickets to a 7:15PM movie at the Laurelhurst theater in advance and walked around the block to find a quick meal and a glass of wine before the show. We stumbled upon Navarre and I remembered reading positive reviews about it in the past. We ordered many small plates including Kens Artisan bread (best in the city in our opinion!), and some french cheeses which were sublime. In addition we had the leg of lamb, duck breast, bison flank steak, clams and eggplant with tadziki sauce. Every... read more
