This was our first visit and we were not disappointed! My only suggestion would be for the guide to include the entire tour in the presentation.. We were with a group and everything was directed to that group only. We had to ask him to turn around so his back would not be facing us the entire tinlme. The grounds and gardens are beautiful and we enjoyed Monticello very much.
Such an important place in the history of our country. I had visited many years ago and made another trip recently. Amazing beauty and I thought all of the tours (house, garden and slave) were so well done. And especially loved the freedom to walk the grounds and explore on my own. The collections, film and other information at the entrance are well worth spending time in as well. Ate lunch. Many healthy choices and reasonable pricing. Beautiful place, very knowledgeable and engaging tour guides, and lots of interesting history. Worth the money!
This is a great time of year to visit. I fell in love with the beautiful, huge, immaculately tended gardens. That, and the building, the amazingly devised intricacies amid the beautiful recreated rooms, and the practical objects and works of art all combined to make me wish I could have known this renaissance man, Thomas Jefferson. It makes me proud to be an American.
Absolutely loved out time on Jefferson's "little mountain" It has been so well cared for and maintained. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and answered tons of questions. Top notch place to visit.
Yesterday was my first time to Monticello. Beautiful place and our tour guide Lucas was the best!! You can tell he truly loves what he does. Made the visit that much more special.
It was a beautiful place, but overall I had mixed emotions being African American. Understanding that it's good we learn our history, seeing other ppl there, I felt like they were gawking n didn't really get the pain some of us were feeling for our ancestors. Why certain Americans feel that they have always needed to be superior, just implies to me how really they are inferior, and that Thomas Jefferson was not only a slave owner but a liar. Who was president. Now I c how #45, thinks he's a good president.
Very interesting and informative... guides were excellent and very nice...made history come to life... well worth the cost!
I had a wonderful time! Our tour guide Sharon was great, very energetic and knowledgeable! I was also able to take the flower garden tour which was beautiful! The staff was friendly and the grounds were immaculate. We will definitely come back and recommend it to others visiting the area!
