I had severe pain in my left knee and was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis. Instead of recommending a more extensive total joint replacement, Dr. Berend offered a new partial knee procedure, enabling more comfort and shorter recovery time.
He’s already done one knee. I’ll get the other one done in a few days. As far as I’m concerned he’s the best in the business. I’m one year out on my first knee replacement. I don’t have any pain. It feels better than it ever has. I’ve referred him to women in the grocery store. A lady at work is having her knee done on the same day June 6. I tell everybody about him. The scar looks amazing. When I needed knee replacement surgery, I believe that Dr. Berend was the best surgeon I could have had.Two years ago, I was experiencing crippling bone-on-bone pain when walking when I heard an enthusiastic review about Dr. Berend from a neighbor. He could walk down the street with a cane barely two weeks after major knee surgery and was thrilled that he would soon be able to play golf again. Dr. Berend is always kind, patient, honest and explains things in a way that you understand. He has done both of my hips and both of my knees and all are working just fine and pain free. As you can see, I trust him implicitly for all m orthopedic needs.
I have been a nurse for 47 years and have never met a more personable doctor. Physician, PA, X-ray technicians, nurses and front desk staff were efficient, professional, and friendly. Best experience I have ever had.
Dr. Berend is wonderful. After my knee replacement, I have a new life. I am no longer afraid to venture out. I had been afraid of falling but now I am balanced and secure. I am now able to go to exercise classes, and walk around outside. I am very grateful for the improvement he has made in my life.
I can usually get appointment within a few days of calling. Wait in office is usually less than 10 minutes.

I knew I needed a knee replacement for a long time. Just didn’t have the funds. Luckily my employer has a plan in place just for things like this. Dr. Berend was recommended to me by my boss, who’d had his knee replaced the previous year, and I’m so glad I called and made the appointment!
