About this business
When Cedar Rapids needed hospital beds in 1900, the Sisters of Mercy established Mercy Hospital in a small house on Third Avenue and Sixth Street Southeast. The 15-bed house was soon too small, so the Sisters of Mercy looked for money and a site to build a larger hospital. They went from parish to parish and to nearby towns. In 1903, they were able to construct a 100-bed hospital at Mercy's present location. I've walked our of this hospital twice now. The doctor was extremely arrogant. He didn't listen to my wishes or respect my boundaries. I've never encountered a worse person, let alone a doctor. This man needs to be taken out of the medical field. Doctor's shouldn't act like that.

We had amazing experiences for the births of our daughters. The nursing staff in the birthplace/NICU is amazing. I've never had a bad experience at Mercy, in the many times I have been there.
