I have been eating at this restraunt for many years . Over the last 6 months or so service and food quality have Gone down hill . The management is the problem . We normally eat out a few times a week and are use to Hour waits to be seated . On April 2nd we arrived and were told There would be a 30 minute wait which was no problem . While waiting we observed the head manager allowing friend to Bypass the wait line and walk right in to be seated . Chris our waiter suggested a couple of ideas and he definitely was on point. Chris has great customer service and that with the best Chicken fried chicken I have ever tasted in my life made it all worth the drive from Spring. Can't wait to go back.
Mel's is always great. Good country cooking, good people, good prices. Who could ask for more?
Just ate there for lunch today the place was packed ..very good food,service alot of food. 4 hrs later and i am not anywhere near hungry....
I've been here a few times and my church had it's Christmas fellowship dinner here as well. Food is awesome and the service was great, too.
I witnessed the manager being extremely rude to a customer over a piece of fish. Will never go back. His behavior was totally unacceptable because if he did it once he'll do it again
I know I'll get flack for this BUT I must say I live in Humble and due to all the great reviews for CFS @ Mel's and being I have been craving a great CFS for some time now my husband and I took the long drive and Mel's just (for lack of better words) didn't fit the bill for anything!!! CFS tasted like it was previously frozen. Mashed potatoes and gravy were bland. But on a good note I did enjoy their cabbage and green beans. We most likely won't be making that trip to Mel's again.
