I had a prostate biopsy and the entire staff was very professional and friendly easing all of my anxiety about the procedure. The procedure took about 30 mins and was not painful and I recommend getting it done if suggested by Dr Spaliviero
As part of my active surveillance for prostate cancer, I was getting periodic MRI exams for several years. An incidental finding on a recent MRI showed a tumor on one of my kidneys, no symptoms. Dr. Spaliviero strongly suggested that it should be surgically removed since it was likely malignant. Based on the excellent care I was receiving from him for the prostate issue, I took his advice. After ongoing months of bladder cancer treatment and monitoring I enthusiastically recommend Dr. Spaliviero. He is an excellent and caring doctor who takes the time to explain things and, perhaps more importantly, he actually listens and understands my concerns. The staff at the Stonybrook Cancer Center are also outstanding. Where at other hospitals the staff seem to avoid eye-contact, else you might ask for something, the Stonybrook staff is always friendly and helpful. They frequently ask “can I help you”.

I had a prostate fusion biopsy done as an outpatient at Stony Brook Medicine. The doctor and staff were tops; the staff reached out beforehand and were pleasant and efficient on the day of the procedure. Doctor Spaliviero was gentle, precise, and reassuring. Here is an important point: Although I may speak only of this procedure done by this doctor, I can tell you that my fears of discomfort were groundless.
