Dr. S is a talented surgeon with a wonderful bedside manner and a great sense of humor. He was supportive throughout my recovery from shoulder surgery always patiently answering my questions. I admire his dedication in mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. We all benefit from his efforts.
In June 2022, I broke my ankle skateboarding. Even at 31 years old, I was doing my best skateboarding and leveling up quickly and breaking my ankle was a big blow mentally. Dr Shultzel helped with getting me using my right elbow again. From beginning to now everything has been absolutely amazing in dealing with him as a doctor and his staff. I can't say enough of how great it is to have a doctor care so much in medicine today, and ensuring you are well taken care of and fully informed as a patient. I will absolutely be seeing Dr Schultzel for any other orthopedic issues and will gladly refer him to anyone I know that might need him.
Dr. Schultzel was referred to me as the top orthopedic surgeon in San Diego from a friend that worked in the medical device space. Dr. Schultzel was amazing throughout the whole healing process of my broken humerus bone and was always available for any questions I had, even when I did not have an appointment! Dr. Mark performed surgery - Arthroscopic Knee Surgery W/Meniscectomy on Right Knee. He answered all of my questions prior to surgery and afterward with each follow-up. He has great bedside manners and a personality that will put you at ease. I had great success with my surgery and physical surgery to obtain the result of "Walking with NO Pain!"
I am a cardiologist and it is well known that the doctors make the worst patient.This methodical approach by Dr Schultzel dissipated my fear and apprehensions. He explained the finer details of the surgery, the evidence for success, the complexity of the shoulder girdle, the plan to reconstruct the shoulder, regain mobility and eventually strength. I’ve had three major injuries that have required surgery and by far Dr. Schultzel was the most caring, hands on, helpful, and reassuring doctor I’ve had the good fortune of coming across. From first consultation, now 3 months post surgery, I’ve felt completely confident that Dr. Schultzel will do whatever he can to help me recover to 100%!
Breaking a bone can be traumatic. I broke my right wrist, a distal radius fracture. Sharp referred me to Dr Shultzel. That turned out to be a blessing. Despite every effort to align the broken bones Dr Suhltzel determined surgery and the insertion of a plate was the answer.
