I can enthusiastically recommend Dr. Mark Schultzel to anyone looking for an orthopedic surgeon. Six months ago, he did my rotator cuff repair, and I was able to go backpacking this month! This was my second surgery, and he suggested that my first surgeon may have been using some older techniques, so I am more confident in my long-term outcome this time. Beyond his surgical skill, Dr. Mark is warm and caring and instills that same approach to patient care in his staff—all of them. I live in Temecula and am so grateful that h... read more
After having rotator cuff surgery by another orthopedic surgeon, and being told I have a massive, irreparable rotator cuff tear, I made an appointment with Dr. Mark Schultzel. From his introduction, thru my 3rd appointment, Dr. Schultzel was informative, empathetic, encouraging, and very caring. I was scheduled for surgery, with Dr. Schultzel, to insert an 'In-Space' balloon spacer. However, at about 3 mo post-original rotator cuff surgery and doing PT 3x week, I was quite surprised when I could lift my arm overhead. Made a ... read more
I was visiting Carlsbad and injured my knee. My Carlsbad friend recommended Dr Schultzel. His office arranged x-rays and got me in to see the doctor in 2 days. This doctor is relatable, kind, and compassionate. He gave me shots in both knees on my first visit so I didn't need to make another appointment and wait. The atmosphere in the office was efficient and competent. This starts at the top and I credit doctor Schultzel with running a fine establishment. He would be my doctor if I lived in the area!
Dr. Schultzel is an exceptional surgeon! I had a bicep tendon surgery with him, and the entire experience was top-notch. His attention to detail and commitment to patient care are truly remarkable. He took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The surgery and my recovery has been better than I expected. If you're looking for a skilled and compassionate orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Schultzel is the one to go to!
If you are looking for a top notch orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Schultzel is it! I had partially torn meniscus and since my wife already had a fantastic experience with Dr. Schultzel, I decided to go to his practice. After careful diagnosis, he recommended partial meniscectomy; He performed the procedure at the James Brown Pavillon Outpatient Center by Sharp Medical. Of course I was anxious as I haven't had surgery for 25 years but his team (nurses, anesthesiologist etc) made it so comfortable. The procedure went well and also th... read more
I think I waited a little too long before looking up Dr. Schultzel for an appointment but am glad I did. He immediately diagnosed the problem and made the quick decision to admit me into surgery. His assured and calm demeanor immediately put me at ease. The surgery a success I am now fully recovered.
Dr. Mark Schultzel is a very attentive doctor who made sure to address all my concerns and explain the procedure I was getting clearly. If I had any questions, I would email him, and he would respond promptly to make sure I had all the answers I needed. He and his team provided a very welcoming environment, great hospitality, and allowed for the best recovery process I could ask for. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Mark Schultzel.
The entire staff was kind, helpful and professional. Dr. Schultzel made me feel comfortable at all times. My shoulder surgery went very well. He is an amazing surgeon!!
Dr. Schultzel is extremely knowledgeable and adept in explaining complex anatomy and surgical procedures in a clear and easy to understand manner. In my case, he demonstrated an open minded approach which ultimately enabled me to avoid surgery. Despite a completely torn rotator cuff injury, we embarked on what Dr. Schultzel called 'pre-therapy,' in advance of anticipated surgery. It was my good fortune that this regimen of physical therapy allowed me to recover full range of motion and resume all my normal activities. Dr. Sc... read more
