Leaving a person alone in ER waiting room for 4 hours after she was told to go there for emergency surgery. It is a good thing that humans do not need food or water to live. I thank God there is more than one hospital in Portland.

RecommendedTo the Drs and nurses on both the 5th and 6th floor, I will never truly be able to put into words the care my daughter received during her chemotherapy treatments! Caring,loving,sympathetic I could go on for days! And the exit was second to none! To take the time to line up and say goodbye! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Maine Med has all the up-to-date technology but falls short on the common sense aspects of care. They often neglect to feed patients who can't order their own meals. They sent my 90 year old mother, with a fractured neck and a fractured shoulder, to rehab 60 miles away in a "wheelchair van". She said she sat above the axle and was painfully jarred over every bump. They also neglected to inform her that this service was not covered by insurance and that arranging her own ride would have been a better, safer, less expensive op... read more
Avoid this place if you can. I’m currently sitting for my third hour waiting for a minor SCHEDULED surgery procedure. No update unless you ask, no offer of a drink of water. My father is 92 years old and this treatment is beyond unforgivable. Switching docs and will head to Mercy next time.

12/10 I went to the emergency room due to excruciating pain, and actually never left the waiting room, except to have an ultrasound. They even took my blood in the waiting room. They gave me an ultrasound, and told me the ectopic pregnancy I had been treated for by their clinic since November 7th, was still there and was still the same size but my HCG levels were down so I was OK and just to have my HCG levels checked in a week. --while I was in there we watch a woman become unresponsive while waiting well over 30mins to be ... read more
