Dr. Mahoney was excellent. I am scheduling my hip replacement with him.
He was very nice. He didn’t time explaining everything and we felt good about things when we left.
Dr. Mahoney was highly recommended by the physical therapy professionals I surveyed. I sought the surgeon with the best outcomes and lowest infection rates. The PT folks know better than anyone. My experience with my knee replacement was outstanding. An added bonus was his bedside manor - he is friendly and relatable. I highly recommend Dr. Mahoney.

Dr. Mahoney is one of the few doctors in the Athens area that actually treats the entire patient. Although he is a specialist and focuses entirely on his specialty, he is concerned deeply about the care his patients receive from the other attending physicians. Dr. Mahoney is truly an attentive physician. I wish his style of medicine was more prevalent in the medical community. I managed to fracture my femur underneath my implant and Dr. Mahoney was almost able to diagnose with me just explaining what happened via text. He did get me to his office the next Monday after he contacted me on a Saturday night! Love being sble yo contact him via text!
Dr. Mahoney & his assistant, Joe, have been very informative & helpful during this time. They have made my knee replacement as pain free as they could possibly make it! I would recommend Dr. Mahoney to anyone!
I had knee surgery 2 years ago and still have pain. He did an extra surgery that helped and now is offering suggestions to continue reducing the pain
