UPDATE. 2-30-17 It seems that my complaint went to the top. So they did send me a new cap and spring. They no longer use the old spring and have moved to a stainless spring. So this should stop or slow down the problem of galvanic corrosion .. Original REVIEW I have had a rechargeable Maglight for 20+ years. It has worked just fine. I really wish MagLite would develop more powerful lights.. Imagine a multi-thousand lumen torch with the smooth body of a Mag, that would be nice, yeah?
Over the past 30 years I have had various Maglites and they've all been very good or excellent. I currently have a 2 D cell led model and am very happy with it. However, I do wish they would come out with an 18650 battery, high output (1000 lumens) model.
Bought 2 flashlights for work and both were garbage right outta the package id turn them on and they would turn off if shaken at all. Everyone i know that buys these has the same problem. If i could give you zero stars i would.

My halogen rechargeable lasted 12 years, then was traded in for the LED version. I recently picked up the rechargeable Mag-Tac. Nothing but quality in my opinion. They have never failed me.
I received one of these as a gift. It cost a lot at the time as I saw it in the store later on. I've been looking at it on my shelf for 3 years now. Defective switch right out of the box. Never lit a thing. No quality control, no response from the company on parts or service. Don't buy.
