On July 21, 2017 I inquired about a refinance and they quickly charged me $450 for an appraisal and led me to believe that it would take 3 weeks to close and that I was approved. It has been over a month now and they do not respond to my emails or phone calls. Probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We refinanced our property after numerous re-submissions of the same material. Now I can't get them to pay the property taxes that were due two months ago, even though we paid for the property taxes in the closing fees AND we have paid more than enough in the escrow payments since then. My complaint is a little different from all the others, but it shows the lack of professionalism of this company in general. We own a small real estate appraisal company(husband and wife) and we have elected to only take on VA appraisals. We were contracted by this company,LoanDepot to perform an appraisal for one of their clients. In short, do not waste your time with this shady company. I started my loan application for $80,000 after a rep from this company called me and offered me a deal with good interest rate, 3.75%, I believe. The rep (his initial is BR) said it would cost me $3,000 and another $439, which would be refunded after loan is approved. So the total cost of loan is $3,000, I thought and I asked him from the very first call that I would receive $80,000 when everything is done, and he said yes, I would get $80,000. got all my information and started to talking me into refinance instead of equity loan. When I emphasized that I only seek equity loan, hanged up on me.

They get the $450.00 for the appraisal fee as fast as they can . Then you get told you are approved which is great . Then you spend $500.00 for earnest money $385.00 for home inspections . Then you spend the next month and a half leaving messages and sending the same paperwork over and over . Also during this time you are always told it will be another week and the loan will be done (all lies). So after all said and done and I lost all the money for the appraisal home inspection and ernest money . This was all due to the lie... read more

Quick Closing, But Beware of all the Details. I used LoanDepot to refinance my house and consolidate some debt. I was very pleased with the short amount of time that LoanDepot needed to close on my loan and equally pleased with their ability to waive several fees for my particular refinance loan. Due to the timing of the closing, I was able to make my first payment nearly months after closing, that saved me two months worth of payments, which I was able to bank (also pleasing). I had been a customer with Quicken Loans several times over the last 20 years and was going to do a refinance with them until they tried to pull a quick one on my closing costs. I worked with LoanDepot and will never go back to Quicken. Janice B** and Tannaz S********* were professional and great communicators. The paperwork was streamlined and everything happened the way they said it would. I would highly recommend using the two of them. Janice will get you started and Tannaz will finish up.
