I applied for loan with loan depot, they promised for better rates for 30 year fixed mortgage with no closing cost, they kept delayed my loan estimate and finally provided loan estimate but with some closing cost associated, i spoke to loan office, he promised to fix it for final closing disclosure, when it is time for closing, they denied and said this is best he can do and denied all our conversations saying he needs to validate all phone calls and texts etc, i had a proof and sent the same to his manager and customer serv... read more

I would not recommend using Loan Depot. We chose Loan Depot for our refinancing needs mainly because we were told that we would have no closing cost and actually be receiving money back. In the the end this was not true we ended up having closing cost which took away the money we were supposed to be getting back. We were not told this information until after we had already signed and funded our loan. The closing documents we signed said we would be receiving money back. Loan Depot started out really good. I had used them previously (3 years) on my current home and decided to refinance. My first experience was great. Very smooth and did not have any issues. My last experience started out really good but left a bad taste in my mouth at the end. There was some major confusion on how the closing was going to take place. Loan Depot took our loan application and I have to say that the loan officer and the processor did a great job, HOWEVER, their system at the time needed help! Managers were always in meeting and never responded to phone calls because they were just too busy. In the end my loan closed on time but it seemed like on a wing and a prayer. They were too busy to handle the load and so customer service fell off from some of the people involved. The loan officer was great and responded to my every need but he could only do so much. Excellent service, very quick, had one hiccup and they responded quickly. This is my second loan with loan depot. They had the lowest rates and did not sell my loan to another lender. The agent was very courteous and went out of his way to save me money for the refinance.

I have refinanced many times over the last forty years, but this was by far the most stressful. Communication was my main complaint. Although i had excellent communication with the loan originator, once my application was turned over to an account manager, communication became very spotty. I emailed her numerous questions during the process and i had a 50/50 chance of getting a response. Another issue that stressed me out was over the cash we were to receive after closing. Total professionals! Every part of the process was streamlined. Using Loan Depot to purchase our new home made it a great experience, and our rate is lower than everyone else I've talked to.
