Ever since I was young I had a love for science and the human body and I wanted to apply this passion to help people on a personal level. Becoming a doctor granted me the art of being able to connect with people while treating their disease and/or ailments. In conclusion, patient's concerns and preferences are always a priority in my mind on forming treatment plans and I feel this is an important part to maintaining the patient-to- physician relationship and key to treating disease.

Met with Dr. Alvarez to discuss my digestive health issues. She really focused and listened to current health concerns as well as following up on family history details. It was obvious that she is very passionate about her medical specialty. As a result I was able to quickly get a Colonoscopy scheduled the same week which resulted in a definitive determination and root cause of my digestive system issues. Really appreciate the fast turnaround.
My entire family sees Dr. Alvarez regularly. We have a significant history of colon cancer and Dr. Alvarez and her staff stay on top of all of our appointments and scheduling needs. She communicates thoroughly and is always extremely compassionate. I have recommended her to several friends and colleagues and will continue to do so for anyone who needs her services.
My husband, adult son and I are patients of Dr. Alvarez, coming to her care following the retirement of our prior GI doctor. Separately, Dr. Alvarez’s knowledge, care and expertise have successfully addressed the different health issues we faced. We value Dr. Alvarez and recommend her.

Dr. Alvarez listened to all my concerns, gave me suggestions and set up my procedure all to be done within a week. I felt comfortable & reassured with her treatment plan.
Dr. Alvarez is amazing! She is attentive, responsive, and very knowledgeable. She also is very kind and calm in a setting that can be quite stressful for the patient. Having previously been to other GI's, I feel lucky to have found Dr. Alvarez, and will continue to share her info with anyone and everyone I know looking for a GI.

Dr Alvarez knows her stuff. She is thorough and takes great care when explaining findings or recommended treatment plans. She seems passionate about her field of expertise and it shows in her gentle approach to ensure the patient understands and is comfortable with a procedure.
