Ever since I was young I had a love for science and the human body and I wanted to apply this passion to help people on a personal level. Becoming a doctor granted me the art of being able to connect with people while treating their disease and/or ailments. In conclusion, patient's concerns and preferences are always a priority in my mind on forming treatment plans and I feel this is an important part to maintaining the patient-to- physician relationship and key to treating disease.

Dr. Alvarez is outstanding. I have had Crohns for over 50 years. She is by far the best GI Doctor that I had seen. She reviews my records before meeting with me and listens to my description and my health then decides if we keep the same regimen or alter course. She makes time to see me when I am in trouble. I cannot say enough good things about her knowledge and professionalism. Cannot overstate my recommendation!
Dr. Alvarez is great - takes all the time the patient needs to answer questions and concerns. I am very happy to have found her and highly recommend her, her associates and staff!
Dr. Alvarez is unpretentious and very easy to talk to. She has such a calm demeanor, she puts you at ease immediately. She has helped me tremendously with my medical issues. All of my problems were addressed with the correct medication and advice. I have been a patient at this practice for decades. I highly recommend her as a physician. Her office staff and nurse are outstanding.
We visited Dr. Alverez due to some intestinal problems my wife was having. Dr. Alverez had read over Brenda's history and asked meaningful questions in her assessment. She then laid out an easy-to-understand and through plan overview for future actions and set up a followup appointment. Her understanding and wisdom are well beyond her years; we cannot say enough good things about her.
Dr, Alvarez might be an excellent doctor. I wouldn't know because it is impossible to schedule an appointment. I sat on hold for SEVERAL minutes, then a live voice came on and said,"can you hold?" I said yes. She went away and never came back. This happened three times. This doctor's reputation is great but this is unacceptable.

I apologize for your phone experience with our office and agree that it is unacceptable. At year-end we can receive higher than normal call volumes, but disconnecting a caller should never happen. Absolutely the BEST gasternologist n DFW. She treats each patient as if your the only one! Dr. Alvarez is very knowledgeable, courteous and compassionate! I highly recommend her and if i could give more than 5 stars i would!????
