I had come in to Lia Toyota on a Saturday with the intent to look at and possibly purchase a RAV4 Prime. I scheduled an appointment online a week ahead of time with Emily, their, "internet sales consultant". Day of, I came in with my father and it was fairly busy. This dealership does not have my respect from the general manager on down. I should have seen the red flags from the beginning. The sales manager never even introduced himself or thank me for my business after buying my ***** *****. I paid top dollar but shame on me for trusting the sales person. I only had one issue with the vehicle since I owned it. The collision mitigation was not working and the cruise control worked intermittently. Car has 21,000 miles on it. They replaced the transmission fluid, at a cost of $273, when the car was brought in for state inspection. I learned later that the standard recommendation for this service is 60,000 to 100,000 miles. My request for a refund was denied, partially on the basis that if they gave a refund in this case they would have to give refunds to all the customers to which they provided this service, per call from one of their Service Managers. Lia Honda Brewster without any contract contacted my insurance and changed coverage on a trade in and a Honda merely looked at. Again this was without any contracts signed to purchase and trade in car. This has caused problems not only on my auto insurance but with other policies I have. Why would a sales rep proceed in a manner without a binding contract. Further without a binding contract signed Lia Honda conducted hard credit checks thus lowering credit score. Car is not cleaned on return from service can see the finger prints and dust . Was told it is sanitized but cannot see 1% of the proof. Never going back, lots of options nearby. Cannot take risk with the cleanliness given the current pandemic situation. At Williamsville Lia Honda
The behavior I witnessed at the hands of the Lia Toyota of Rockland staff was the worst I’ve ever experienced. I witnessed the staff intimidating an elderly non native English speaker with demands, talking loudly, and quickly about the tires on this customer’s vehicle. The elderly Asian man looked to be confused and frightened by the interaction. This made me think about what this country must have been for my immigrant parents. It is not right. This is not an environment that I’d be comfortable recommending to anyone.
Just gave Lia Honda a big check for a new car and returned the next day to get a car for my daughter and was told to get a better deal elsewhere. You would think after just buying a suv I would have been given a better a deal on another purchase or have some once of loyalty. I will never ever buy another vehicle from Lia Honda. They could have had a customer for life. Once they got my check, they really didn’t care after that. Really really disgusted and disappointed.
