mac and cheese was great. brisket was fatty and not much on the bread. brussel sprouts were outstanding. Waitress was awesome!!!
The hotel itself is really nice. I especially enjoyed the Marriott Premier lounge. The room they gave me, however, was not great. The walls are paper thin and I could hear everything the person next to me was doing (aka their tv, phone conversations, even their alarm in the morning!). I also could hear every conversation in the hall and every door close as people went in and out of their room. I had to sleep with my white noise app blaring. Also, my room did not get cleaned one of the days.
Great check in experience with Rhea, she put us in a room on the 33rd floor overlooking the lake and pool. She also sent a birthday gift and card up to the room which was a $40 voucher to either restaurant on property. The pool was nice. We ran into some friends while up there. Overall the room was excellent. The bed was very comfortable and they brought us a mini fridge. We went to Corner restaurant which was amazing. The facilities are gorgeous. Let's just get that out of the way. I've stayed at other JW Marriotts and always had a first class experience. Austin was the exception. Things we had issues with: -called a day or two before arrival, and the reservation was missing a day -at check in was told there was no reservation -finally got a room, and they did not honor the rate at which the room was booked -the hallway on the 9th floor smelled like urine the entire 5 day stay -when we asked where the Congress Ave Terrace was, no one on s... read more
We stayed here last week for the LimeLight conference. It was AMAZING! Everything was kept impeccably clean, the staff was always ready and willing to help, and everyone had a friendly face. There were a LOT of us, and they handled the numbers perfectly and with grace. I would most definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely stay here for any future visits to Austin.
