John Paul Jones Arena

4.5

About this business

Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

Went to see Stevie Nicks last night and she was awesome. Sound and lighting were good. The people who sat around us were cool. The drive from Richmond was easy with no hassle. We arrived early, so parking was a breeze. Parking pass was way overpriced at $15. Leaving the venue was easy with no hassle. My complaint is that the Pretenders did not show due to a sickness, and we had to sit and wait for Stevie for an hour and a half, which I did not like. We paid a lot of money for tickets and felt a little ripped off.

Only one thing that bothered me were the drunks in the front who didn't belong there and I didn't pay the prices that we did for seats And kept on coming up to try to take pictures and they were just falling over people. Get in our views. They need more security in the front around rows D AND AFTER floor and passed to keep out people who don't pay the prices .

Absolutely the worse concert experience ever. Stevie Nicks surrounded by drunks who talk and sang or woohooood through the entire concert.

Great place to see a concert!!! Not a huge venue and the stage jets out in the middle and sides so not a bad seat in the house. Will be back 👍🏼👍🏼
