Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

We went to the Miranda Lambert concert on friday and when we found our seats, someone was sitting in them. Apparently the guys family was sitting behind us and we're pissed that their son couldn't sit in OUR seats. We got told that we were fat and we should have bought two seats a piece like big people have to do on an airplane. The father was supposedly a cop and I was told to shut my f****** and to not f*** with a cop. All of this because they wanted OUR seat that we paid for. They then went and got security and told them ... read more
Would have been better if one of the staff didn't stand blocking a quarter of the stage during half of the concert...
We've been to many concerts at the JPJ arena and they are always great; however, the traffic situation before and after events makes drop off and pick up difficult for ticket holders who were unable to secure parking.
