Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

Went to see Stevie Nicks and the Pretenders. Was extremely disappointed that they let folks know 15. Min prior to Pretenders were not going to pkay. We were told my Mike. That we could get a full refund as folks were getting there refunds we asked if they could up grade our 2 tickets to better seats due to folks canceling. They said no. We are not rolling in money and felt we could have had a wonderful experience if the venue would have worked with us a bit. We did NOT get our full monies worth. Will never recommend JPJ. If I am just rating JPA it is fantastic. The concert was awesome but even though I understand illness, I was sorry not to hear the Pretenders especially since the ticket price included them. All in all live JPA!! I just read whete a refund for Pretenders was given...that notice should have been on the notice of illness.
Great place for a concert. Easy drive from Richmond. The parking was easy, when we arrived. Leaving went just as well. Stevie Nicks was fabulous . Definitely will come back for more concerts. A+++++
Great place for basketball they should have opened up lower seats on side so you wouldn't have to have seats so far up
