Opened in the summer of 2006 to replace the aging University Hall, the University of Virginia now holds its basketball games, concerts and other events in this 16,000 seat arena. Built almost entirely from a private donation, it takes its name from a former alumni, and not the Revolutionary War naval hero. It shouldn't be hard for fans to find, since it's right across the street from the old facility.

Didn't know they have a no re-entry policy. .glad they allowed us to go back in. .my girl Stevie Nicks put on one hell of a show ..definitely impressed with the police and how they got us out of there ..
We went to the Stevie Nicks show, our first at JPJ. What an awesome venue! I was really surprised at how comfortable the seats were and at the sight lines. I don't think there is a bad seat in the whole arena. It took awhile to get out of the parking lot after the show but that was the only drawback to the entire evening.
We saw Stevie Nicks lastnight.... she was absolutely phenomenal! It was my first time at JPJ and for the most part it was very nice... only thing I didn't like was there wasn't alot of room in the seating area, not very comfortable for those with long legs. But it was tolerable over all good experience.
Beautiful and modern arena. Comfortable seats. Bathroom was clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Saw Stevie Nicks and she put on an amazing show! Wish the people in front of us hadn't been obnoxious (very drunk, falling down into the seats in front of them, talking loudly, etc). It was distracting. I thoroughly enjoyed what I could see of the concert though.
Everything was great, only reason I didn't give it a five is one of the guys directing traffic. I slowed down to ask where handicap parking was, he said " man, I'm just moving cars". It was not so much what he said it was how he said it. Maybe they need to screen their help a little better and hire people who really want to work, not just someone looking for a paycheck.
Didn't like the seating and very disappointed that the Pretenders weren't there,Loved the show,Stevie was wonderful, didn't like that some people had too much to drink,we're there to see a show drink later when you get home,a man that had too much to drink was arguing with a guy a few rows up from us,he had to be removed. No problems getting out of the parking lot.
Stevie Nicks was awesome! Saw her at the Verizon Center last fall. The arena was more intimate, which I liked but the seats were uncomfortable. Not enough leg room. and the video screens for the top sections were in horrible places. Not well thought out.
