Never ever go here if you need immediate attention. They couldn't lead a pack of kindergarteners on a playground. Their ER techs are unprofessional and untrained. Come on! Get it together! Ya'll need customer service training and more job training. How about you pay attention to priorities and clean the place up. Y'all are gross! Re-vamp the way you check in a patient and hire actual professionals and not fast food employees. Hello!
My last visit to hmh was in April 2015, I was 9 months pregnant and in active labor after my water broke and I called 911 they took me straight to hmh instead of Norton's as I requested (My ob/gyn was there) once I arrived I was registered and checked by a nurse where she told me I was 6 cm dilated I begged them for antibiotics to treat possible group b and they refused to give me antibiotics without having my medical records (it was a saturday) even after I told them my daughter contracted it during delivery and almost died... read more
Hardin Memorial has some good doctors like: Dr Tarr. He called to check up on me since I have a lot of medical problems. He was very understanding and helpful last night when I went in with a spiked fever after having my port placed. He is one of the best ER doctors around here and it's because he actually cares about his patients. I'm here with my mother who has primary lung cancer and metastatic brain cancer. We came in because her right leg became incredibly swollen in a very short period. It has been over two hours and we have not seen a physician. She is in significant pain and sobbing. Nobody here cares. The nurses won't even make eye contact now that I've opened the curtain. I will never bring her back here. If you care about someone then drive them to Louisville.
I took my wife to hmh a little after 1am for symptoms of either a urinary tract infection or possible appendicitis. It was a farce. Nothing but a series of long waits with nothing being done for us or apparently anyone else. They claimed to be busy but the nurses at the desk were sitting there laughing and joking. There is no communication or common courtesy and respect for anyone elses time, and absolutely no urgency from anyone that we witnessed. I had a great experience with the ER today. It was so much better than in the past. Everyone was super nice and things moved along quickly.
We came for testing with our newborn baby, not only where the staff rude, but very rough with our baby, they said I could take her elsewhere if I didn't like there procedures. I DID! Kosairs! Where we where treated as we should be baby, and parents! Never again!
I had my daughter at HMH in 2012. I was so impressed with the mother/baby team. One nurse in particular stood out, Charlotte. I was so upset (for no reason, other than the momma blues). She spoke very softly to me, was so kind to me. The others were wonderful as well. A couple weeks ago my 3yr old daughter broke her leg, the nurses and doc were amazing to her.
