bad experience, OK result – ok, so after spending almost FOUR hours at Janet Rufin's Parlor, I am exhausted and annoyed. First let me say that I am not a high-end client, but there's no reason for anyone to feel like they are not a high-end client - especially when one is paying high-end prices. Great place for a haircut – I was new to the city and looking for a good place to get a haircut. After trying a few so-so places, I tried out this place and was not disappointed. Got my haircut with Jen who was very knowledgeable and asked lots of questions to make sure everything went smoothly. Very friendly staff and comfortable environment. Definitely recommended.
Best blonde highlights ever – I have been getting blonde highlights for about twenty years now, and I can say hands down that Janet Rufin (Janet herself ) gave me the best blonde highlights I have ever had. She offered me an array of options and provided pictures to illustrate those options. I have never had more natural looking, dimensional, and yet somehow impossibly glamourous hair color in my life. Great cuts, colors, in a relaxed setting – Great salon, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly, and responsive. John Griffith always gives a great hair cut & with a great conversation. Try it out you won't be disappointed!
Better hair color than you even knew you could have – Janet Rufin is a hugely talented hair colorist. She knows what works and what doesn't and she will help to guide you, if you want that guidance. She just knows her work so well and gives you the best of her knowledge, expertise and hands-on talent. Color genius! – This was my first visit of what are sure to be many with Janet. I have had a lot of lacklustre experiences with NYC colorists, and was beginning to worry it was endemic, but Janet has restored my faith (and my hair)! Great Experience – From the minute I walked in the door, I felt comfortable and everyone took their time to make sure I had what I needed. Jennifer took the time to go over what I was looking for in color and cut and she did not disappoint. I was nervous going to someone completely new but I definitely will continue to come here because I was so happy with the results.

Great color & cuts by Janet – My trip to Janet Ruffin's Parlor was fantastic! I have been to all of the major salons (Fekkai, AKS, Robert Cree, etc) and found Janet's approach terrific and much more personalized.
