Kevin and Janet Ruffin's Parlor Rock! – My long and boring hair needed someone like Kevin desperately! He gave me a great haircut, he listened, took his time, and was really cool to chat with. Wait, that sounds like the perfect man! The ambience, décor and the staff were also very welcoming. Can't wait until my next appointment.

Great hair stylist – At Janet Rufin's Parlor, the service was excellent. From the friendly atmosphere, an after work cocktail, personal attention, and a stylist who not only listens to the customers needs but also suggests what works well - I had a great experience. I highly recommend this salon.
Best color in the city! – In the three years I have lived in New York I have tried all the "best" salons and handed over small fortunes to smug stylists while I walk out crying about the horrible mess they have made of my hair. Unparalled attention to detail; great short hair cuts. – I first found Janet decades ago, a very young hairdresser at John Delarian's---and never looked back. I followed her around the city from salon to salon as she grew in strength and experience, and was never disappointed in my style (she even tolerated my punky hair ideas, sweetheart that she is). Amazing Highlights – I wanted highlights for the longest time but I was terrified of coloring my hair. Janet did an amazing job -- she took her time and explained my options. Stylists flock to Janet Rufin as an expert educator in hair color. – I came to Janet with my brown hair mistakenly dyed jet black by the a student at the Aveda school.
