A great hair day! – I've been coming to Janet Rufin's now for the past year or so, following my favorite haircutter Jon Gerard all around the Flatiron neighborhood. I'm so glad that he has decided to set down roots here at this salon since it's also a wonderful experience. Unlike so many other places, it's quiet, sensual and soothing. I know that when I walk in, it'll be a great hair day .
Great Salon! – After a recommedation from a friend that Janet does the "best brown" I made an appointment and was very pleased! Janet takes the time to assess your overall appearance to determine the best hair color to complement your look. John and Loran – John is a great haircutter. he listens to what you want and tries to please. He is friendly and professional. Loran is a great colorist. both work in a relaxed atmosphere. all the staff are very professional and welcoming. beats all the uptown salons ive been to.

Great cut, color – I've been going to Janet for a few months now, and every time I get a terrific cut that flatters my face, highlights that complement my coloring and terrific service (love the wine on Saturdays!). Best Color. EVER. – My naturally dark brown hair was never meant to be blonde, but somehow, my usual salon messed it up and turned it into a brassy, yellow mess. I went to Janet after reading about her on Allure and Citysearch. My highlights took over four hours (she also had to wash, tone, re-dye, and wash my hair again), but my hair color has NEVER looked better. great highlights! – I've gone to Janet Rufin's Parlor twice and seen different apprentices each time to give me natural blonde highlights. They're always really attentive and do exactly what you want. The service is friendly and polite and the atmosphere is relaxed. In a city where salons can charge you over $200 for highlights, it's amazing to get such great quality at a discounted rate of $70!
