When my son needed help with a bad back more than a decade ago, I did a ton of research and talked to many surgeons and other professionals to find the best back surgeon in Minnesota. Dr. Schwender is that guy. He did a wonderful job on my son and now that I need help with my back, I knew where to turn. He is experienced, skilled, and articulate - clearly explaining everything to me - and I also appreciate his conservative approach. He and his team are first rate in every way. I appreciate Dr Schwender’s approach to helping me with my back issues. He didn’t rush to advising surgery. He is easy to converse with. He listens, answers questions in a clear manner and brings up concerns. Trustworthy and I believes he truly wants the best for me.
He and Joshua his PC listened to what my concerns were and I felt like they were quite confident in helping me., My follow up exam was a month after my surgery and any questions I had were answered. I would have liked to have had a phone call from one of his team the day after the surgery as I had surgery in the morning and was sent home that afternoon. I was in quite a bit of pain on the day after. I had to contact them which took awhile for someone to get back to me.
Dr. Schwender is very kind and very, very good at what he does. I saw Dr. Schwender after three years of tremendous pain, a year plus of PT, multiple injections, and consultation with two respected surgeons at TCO who told me my back problems were inoperable. Dr. Schwender looked at my images and said, "I disagree". He accomplished exactly what he said he would with surgery and I have greatly relieved symptoms.
