I signed up with a Door to door rep, and have had it for about 3 months now its going good for now i saw a few bad reviews so i was skeptical for awhile but nothing with the variable rate has changed at all. Maybe it is because i live in Pittsburgh, Pa I always use the refer a friend program and now my friends have inspire as well.

I was lied to by their door to door salesman. The customer service representative wouldn't or couldn't help me. After signing up my rate nearly doubled in three months. If my experience is any indication of this company's attitudes towards its customers, I strongly don't recommend signing up. Find another company.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! I signed up for Inspire after a door to door salesman showed up to my place in Philadelphia and told me my rates will be always cheaper or around the same as PECO's and that it's green renewable energy. I was sold. So I signed up at a rate of .0759 cent/ kwh in August 2016. Now it's May 2017 and I just realized my rate is .1439/kwh. I went through my bill history and saw my rate was the same for a couple months but in 4 months I went from .0759kwh to .1439/kwh.. THAT IS ALMOST DOUBLED IN 4 MONTHS AND IT S... read more

I fell for the salesman ** the first time. Told me that rates were typically 8 to 10 % lower than my current provider. First bill comes in and rate is about 30 % higher than it would have been. I complain and then I sign up for a fixed rate of .1039 per KWH . First bill comes in and that's what I paid, so I'm happy. Now my second bill comes in and they are charging me .1696 That's a 60% increase over the FIXED rate I signed on for. What part of fixed rate don't I understand? Apparently they have a variety of billing alternatives, so if you think you have a bad one, it is probably best to first call (or online chat) them to discuss alternatives. I didn't like the fact that my bill seemed to be increasing each month since Nov, (rising to $0.1597 per KW-hr) after an initial 4-month flat rate of $0.1199. So, I called to discuss options. I had a representative come to my door back in June of 2016. My rates did vary a little just as she had explained to me so it wasn't that big of a deal. I am just happy to do my part in helping the environment and ensuring that we have a cleaner air.
