Had the misfortune of going to their ER. While treatment was excellent, the nightmare began when the bill arrived. Because I am unable to pay the minimum they’ve set for me but, have been paying as much as I’m able, they’re sending me to collections. Wow!
I had an appointment with Dr. Halal to examine a very painful knee. I brought an MRI. He was gruff, perfunctory, gave me no insight into the problem and had me out of there in five minutes. I went to to Washington Orthopedics and Sports Medicine at Sibley and got far more attention, Dr. Melvin took time to show me the MRI and x-ray results and treated my intense pain. In my memory of 72 years, I have never had more of asense the treating physician saw me as an unwanted interruption of his day and not as a patient in pain.

Inova's billing policy is ruthless. They make you prepay money before allows your surgery. In my case it was $1500.00. They’re sending your account to collection if you can't pay in full after 4 months- or offer to put you on a credit account that charges 4.99% interest. They sends your call to voicemail and claiming that you didn’t call. Their staff talks to you as if you’re bothering them. They need to understand that people sometimes need longer than 6 months to pay a bill. Since they give business to MediCredit, there should be a link to them in their system. You should not have to mail in a form for this option.
Great health care facility
They claim they are for the patient and they care, but how can they just close a whole hematology section down just like that. So many patient and staff lives severely effected. They only care about MONEY and they don’t want patients with Medicare/Medicaid and that is truly sad. This is what’s wrong with big corporation medicine. I have had my doctor for 12 yrs. I will follow him to his next job and NoVA will not get another dime from me.
