On a trip to Florence, Italy in 1983, Il Giardino founder Tony Gargiulo saw a wood burning oven and knew it would be the centerpiece for the soon-to-open restaurant. The first in Virginia, our oven serves up fresh focaccia bread and pizza to order. All of our delicious menu items are prepared with the freshest and highest quality ingredients we can find. Delicious, a bit pricey for the area, but well worth it. Very nice place
The food is good, the ambience is okay. The service is good. Overall, for what we got, we kinda thought the food was overpriced. It's not really that kinda fine dining for those prices. Also, we noticed that all the other servers told their tables about specials, ours did not. The other tables also all got a dip for their bread that we did not. Not sure why, maybe our server was just busy, but it kinda sucked for our table. Won't be back.
It was too busy for the waitstaff to be attentive. 2/3 dishes were good. The noise level made it hard to hear table mates.

Excellent service. The food was great, would recommend the eggplant parmigian. The ambiance, valet parking, and the music were all great. Will definitely visit again.
It's not just the ambiance and the food which is always a winner no matter what I try but Steve our waiter from oceanfront location is always top notch and so loves what he does you can tell!!! Best service always and that really matters just as much as the outstanding food
