I live on the other side of the state and while visiting the Seattle area decided to make a trip to Ikea which I only do every few years. I purchased a $25 electrical item. When I got it home it did not work. I sent an email through the main Ikea website on a Sunday which promised that I would get a response within 24 to 48 hours. I really wanted to love it. We bought two sofas in store over a week ago, then set it up for delivery. Sounds good, right? Well, they forgot to load the arms for the couches in the truck. Now, over a week later, several phone calls (nearly 3 hrs of hold time) we still don't have the arms to our couch. Everyone on the phone has been very polite, and they agreed to refund the shipping costs (has not been confirmed), but we don't have a couch that is useable.

Really like the layout of the new store! I might make it back more often than once a year! You can go upstairs to the showrooms if you want to see room stylings, or straight to the market place and warehouse downstairs, so you don't have to wander forever through the crazy maze. Parking midweek was easy.
I requested my stuff to be home delivered. It was supposed to arrive today by 9pm. At 9.15 pm I received a call to request a delivery before 10pm. Since then, I haven't heard anything and it is 11pm. I tried to contact IKEA and the phone number of the delivery company (I don't have more than their phone number) and not a single response. I had to leave work earlier in order to be there at 5pm and it seems that I will have to do it again soon if the delivery company bothers to call me to ensure my stuff is actually delivered.... read more
