yum. – This place is fantastic. Homey comfort food served in NW ambience. We always bring out of town guests here, celebrate birthdays, promotions, tuesdays. Whatever excuse we can come up with to dine at one of our favorite Seattle restaurants. The seating in the bar makes the entire experience a bit more laid-back and usually means you don't have to wait! The service used to be the best in Seattle. Our favorite waitress doesn't seem to be there anymore, but service continues to be ok, if not spectacular.
Interesting decor, good ambiance & food – On the few occasions I've been here on business travel, I was not disappointed on the type of food served here. The decor is definitely interesting with various blown glass throughout the restaurant (hanging from the chandeliers). The decor is upscale with rich reds and natural colors. I've been here for lunch (somewhat busy) but can't say how the dinner service would be. The mac and cheese is excellent and plentiful. I've had the lobster / crab cakes and fish tacos on two separate o... read more
Decent but far from great – I'm always wary of a nice restaurant that boasts about its meatloaf and macaroni and cheese. Those dishes don't strike me as the type of specialty items I'd order in a nice restaurant. Maybe I'm snooty (doubt it). The drinks were fine and I liked the little bottle of tonic or soda with vodka or gin. The food was okay. Sole was tasty but a bit soggy and nothing special. My chicken was overcooked, which should never happen. The interior is cool but not all that hip any more. I guess I was...underwhe... read more
Did not live up to reviews – It took about 20 minutes after we were seated to even get a wine list. Our food took OVER AN HOUR to arrive after we ordered (causing us to ask for extra bread). We did have 5 people at our table, but the place was not full! I ordered halibut which I did enjoy. My boyfriend's meatloaf was lukewarm & we agreed we can get better meatloaf at Rock Bottom. My friend could not finish her steak because it was burnt on the outside but the baked potato was delicious. The lamb shank was so-so and left much... read more
"We Will Come Back Here"!! – We were 20 minutes late due to Seattle traffic, no suprise there, and they held our table for us. This would make us late for the symphony. We told our server and he was gracious and told us what dishes that would take too long to prepare. We split a ceasar salad which was more than enough. I had to try the Meatloaf - it was excellent - the suace a tad sweet. My friend had the rock shrimp cajun pasta - spicy and good in a creamy roux sauce. The portions are almost european in size and yet plenty.... read more
Great happy hour – I love coming here for Happy hour. $5 cocktails and 1/2 off the bar menu. Great people, great service.
Tpsouth – Great ambience. Very interesting atmosphere. The mac n cheese is awesome. Kathy our waitress was wonderful. She even found out about some of the decoration and came back and told us the story after we asked. She went above and beyond what the usual service is. If I am ever in Seattle again I will be back.
Mother's Day Brunch – I've eaten at Icon Grill 3-4 times for dinner during the past couple years. Usually a great experience, and one of my favorite places. That's why my Mother's Day brunch experience is so disheartening. Service was poor--brought 2 of 6 meals, then after a 15 min wait we got the other 4. Food quality was blah. The buffet table was well picked over and not restocked. It felt like it was their first time doing brunch on a busy day. I'll go back for dinner, but won't do brunch again.
Great Dessert! – Besides the food being fantastic, all I have to say is order the ice-cream sundae! It is big enough to split with probably 4 people. It is sooooooooo good! It is homemade ice-cream and waffle cones and dish, the toppings are great too. You just have to order it to understand how great it is! Overall the Icon is a great restaurant for food too. I love the halibut and of course the Mac & Cheese is a must try at least once in your life. I like the ambiance in the Icon because it's a nice restaurant but it's not... read more
