Avoid every night – I've heard that this place had great mac&cheese so one night when we were thinking of a place for dinner we decided to stop by. We won't be back. The service was horrible and we waited probably 40 minutes for our food on a slow night. The prices led us to beleive the food would be great. How wrong we were. The food was horrible. The 'medium' steak came out medium well. The fried chicken was fried beyond recognition. The stuffed chicken breast seemed to adhere to the idea that there is no problem in culina... read more
Twice Bitten, Never again!!!! – Well, To start with my wife and I went here for the first time on our first wedding anivessary. I had heard good things about this place, and had been interested in Going for a long time. So we showed up and it started at the front door, rude host, he basically ignored us for about two minutes. Our waitress while not rude treated us as if we were an after thought. The food was terrible, Their Signature Mac and Cheese lacked anything in the way of real flavour, the calimari apatizer was way ove... read more
Poor Customer Service, Mediocre Food – We took some friends here before a concert on a Saturday night and were thoroughly disappointed. The waitress knocked over my glass of red wine, shattering the glass, on my fiance and I and then blamed it on me! We would have been happy with a simple "Sorry that happened," but we got nothing and spent the rest of the night drenched in a cabernet. She promptly brought out another glass and cleaned the table and floor but we had to ask for a cloth to sop the wine out of our clothing. So w... read more
Poor Service – Our main server was rude, condescending, and disappeared quite often. Of the six in our party, four loved the food. So, it's a hit-and-miss restaurant. It all depends on the server you receive. When ordering appetizers, be sure to specify just which item you want. We ordered the mac & cheese from the appetizer menu. What was delivered was the mac & cheese side dish, not the "fried" mac & cheese. The waitress blamed it on us, that "we didn't say fried mac & cheese" even though we were ordering directly from the... read more
HORRIBLE service – My sisiter found the Icon grill for Easter brunch...I logged on to city search...saw that the one brunch review was not impressed, but most importantly, I noticed how many people were unimpressed with the staff. My sister wanted to go anyway. We arrived for brunch, an extra person in tow, and it was almost the end of the world. For the life of me I could not figure out how having a fourth person was a big deal...their tables are not triangular in shape, most tables seat four anyway. After being seated and ... read more
i won't be back – one person in our group ended up with the middle of her salmon raw, she sent it back, and they gave her the same piece of fish after putting it back in the oven. for the cost of the restaurant we did not expect such a bad expierence. the waiter was snobby, bordering on rude. it was embarassing because i chose the restaurant based on previous positive expierences. i will not be returning.
Over-the-top decor and upscale home cooking create a fantastic barrage on the senses. – The Scene It's a spectacle to behold: Every wall, table and shelf is chock-full of you-name-it: glass art, posters and knickknacks of endless variety. Diners come to have a good time, ensuring a constant buzz. Servers smile and hustle, but the wait can still be a long one. The Food There's something refreshing about a restaurant that breaks all the fashionable downtown dining rules and instead serves "something for everyone." Pizza, pasta... read more
Great Eye Candy – Whenever anyone from out-of-town comes to visit I take them to Icon Grill. Both the food and the atmosphere are great so it?s perfect for a casual lunch or a romantic dinner. The decorum is amazing too! Hand-blown pieces of glass hang from the ceiling along with random props covering mantels and stairways. Even the waiters say they spot a new piece almost everyday.
Better places a few blocks away – I've been here a few times, and more shame on me for not turning my companions away from this place. At best, this place is hit-or-mostly-miss with it's food, and it's usually not at it's best. Food that is badly prepared, microwaved just before it's brought to your table, and just not tasty, should be enough reason to shut this place down, or at least strip away its pretensions. Service isn't that great either, some waiters will be courteous, others just politely indifferent.
