When it opened in 1995, Hunter-Gatherer Brewery and Alehouse was the first of its kind in the city and is among the oldest South Carolinian brew pubs. That is because brew-pubs were allowed in the state after a law was passed in 1994. Its rustic-cozy ambiance is accentuated by antique light fixtures, African tribal decorative elements and wooden furnishing. Dinner and brew at the Hangar were awesome tonight. Loved the Kubaba brew! The boys loved the "tour" and games!
Try the shrimp and grits.
Everyone knows the brew is amazing but the food and service are excellent as well! Highly recommend!

Visited here for the first time last night to see Duncan Sims & the Accused. Wonderful time with a fun atmosphere, great music and excellent food! The crostini with hummus, portabello mushroom pizza, sausage balls and chips & salsa were outstanding! My husband enjoyed the Golden Ale and I loved the cider! Kudos to manager/bartender Patrick Connelly who provided the best service we have experienced in a long time! (With a bit of Irish lilt included!🍀) Will definitely be back again!
Great brewery, great beer, and great food. Love the whole vibe there. Shout out to Joshua... very knowledgeable and helpful. Looking forward to hanging out there again.
