Decent place but way overpriced. Resort food is just ok. Saw reviews about bugs, am happy to say we only had one huge roach we saw in room. Medicine stolen from my room. Investigation done and all I'm told is I would be hearing from corporate. In the meantime I must call my home doc, find a drugstore to have it called into and refill a full bottle that I just had refilled days ago. Not an offer from the hotel to do anything more. So finally made it to the beach 1:00 and no beach towels Toliet has been fixed twice still not working properly!
I have been to many places and this Marriott Resort & Spa at Hilton Head Island has been one of my favourites. The area (location), beach, premises, pool area and especially the staff are fabulous!!! We even continued our stay longer. We had no issues with our room. Loved the comfy bed. Although, I am disappointed to hear about the negative reviews especially regarding the bugs in the rooms. Our family has been coming here for over 30 years and staying at this hotel for over 15 years! Brian the deck manager along with his staff were fantastic and always accommodating guests. The bar staff by the pool was great! The only issue is the outsiders who come and use the pool park in the lot taking up guest parking while we get stuck with the 20.00 resort fee that I was told to cover pool towels and wi-fi. This hotel is infested with cockroaches. I can deal with bugs, but I prefer not to sleep with them. When I called down to the desk they didn't act surprised which leads me to believe this happens all the time. The clerk was very nice and offered to switch rooms, however if there is one, there are tons. Sarah helped us gather our luggage and load it and was very sincere, but I do not recommend this hotel, nor will I be staying at another Marriott.
We stay in room 463 Day 1: cigarette smells in the room, Not enough towels , Blood stains on one of the queen bed. Day 2: room service has not clean until I request for it to be clean :( " almost 3pm" Day 3: not come yet, will see! ......hope it will be better ! :((
