The charged for a damage waiver that I never selected and was never asked if I wanted the extra coverage. When I called customer support, as well as talked with a manager at customer support, they indicated that I selected the coverage during the rapid checkout process.

I reserved a cargo van a month out from my trip to move my daughter home. I called on a Friday to make sure it would be there. The lady had my reservation and assured me it would be available. I get to Hertz in Nashville, TN, and no cargo van available. This completely derailed my efforts to move my daughter! Do not trust your rental reservation with Hertz! ****

I will never rent from Hertz again. They added a two-hour late fee to a reservation after I returned the car on time and have refused to refund the money. Customer service at both the SEATAC counter and over the phone was TERRIBLE - rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. The phone system went down on me twice.

On Thursday, June 24, 2021, I rented a car at 8am from the Hertz location in Union Station in Washington, D.C. to drive to New Jersey for my brother's wedding which was due to start at 2:30pm. At approximately 9:40am, while driving in I-95 north in Dundalk, MD, the car started shaking, smelled like it was smoking, and the check-engine light came on. I notified the customer representative at the time of picking up the vehicle I did not want to add any additional charges and I only wanted to rent the car. After telling the customer representative "No" to all the additional options, I signed the contract thinking she left everything as-is based on our conversation. My daughter rented a car from Hertz recently and we will NEVER use them again! I have received at a minimum of 5 calls asking if we would like to extend the dates of the rental. Meanwhile, the car had been returned to their Pompano, FL location three days prior to the calls being placed. I called the location and they couldn't find the keys!
